This lot includes two wooden tools used for domestic textile production. The first item is a Saxony-style spinning wheel of horizontal design, constructed from turned hardwood with a medium-brown finish. It features a wheel with eight decorative turned spokes, a mother-of-all assembly supporting a flyer and single bobbin, and is mounted on a three-legged base with turned uprights. The second item is a floor-standing yarn winder, or clock reel, used for measuring spun yarn into skeins. It consists of a four-arm rotating reel mounted on a rectangular frame base. The vertical supports feature decorative carved quatrefoil cutouts and house a wooden internal gear mechanism designed to provide an audible click at set yarn lengths. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Spinning wheel height approx. 72.5 cm Yarn winder base length approx. 69 cm Yarn winder arm span approx. 51 cm. Condition: Both items show age-related wear and patination consistent with long-term storage and domestic use. The spinning wheel is in a collapsed or partially disassembled state and lacks a drive band. Surface scuffing, abrasions to the finish, and accumulated dust are present on both pieces. The yarn winder appears structurally sound with minor wood loss at the joints and expected surface marking.
