A 19th-century country grain bin or flour chest, constructed from pine planks with hand-cut dovetailed corners. The exterior is finished with a dark reddish-brown stain, while the interior remains in a natural, unfinished state. The design features a slanted top with a narrow fixed rear section and a larger front lid secured by iron hinges and reinforced with an internal wooden cleat. The interior is divided into two large storage compartments by a vertical wooden partition. Measurements (read from a visible tape measure): Width approx. 47.5 inches (120.7 cm) Depth approx. 21.5 inches (54.6 cm) Height approx. 36 inches (at rear) (91.4 cm). Condition: The chest is in well-used country-house condition. The exterior finish exhibits significant age-related wear, including heavy scuffing, surface scratches, and areas of fading or loss to the stain. There is visible separation between some planks, notably on the front and side panels. The interior shows typical wear and staining consistent with its functional history. . EXCLUDES CONTENTS
