This collection features several antique cast iron sad irons and components, including a base embossed Taylor-Forbes Guelph Canada and another embossed C. Matt & Co Guelph Canada 2. A detachable cast iron handle is embossed with the name Corning. The lot includes a hand-cranked cast iron meat grinder, the main body embossed Russwin No. 1, Mfd. Co. New Britain Conn. U.S.A., accompanied by its internal screw auger and crank handle. A single cast iron shoe last for child-sized footwear is present, alongside decorative items consisting of a large five-pointed sheet metal star with a reddish-brown finish and a metal charger plate featuring embossed foliate scrolls. An assortment of vintage hand tools is contained within a cardboard box, including a block plane, wrenches, and pliers. A 5/32 inch industrial drill bit in a plastic sleeve marked Foret Industriel is also included. Length of sad iron base: approx. 10 cm (measured against a visible tape measure) Height of grinder body: approx. 9 cm (measured against a visible tape measure). Condition: All cast iron items exhibit significant surface rust, oxidation, and pitting consistent with age and long-term storage. The sheet metal star shows paint loss and surface corrosion. The miscellaneous hand tools show varied levels of wear, rust, and signs of use. The meat grinder is currently in a disassembled state.
