A vintage childrens steerable snow sled designed in the classic style popularized by Flexible Flyer. The sled features a wooden seat deck constructed from five parallel slats, mounted onto a red-painted metal frame with steel runners. A bent-wood steering handle at the front is connected to the runners via metal pivoting joints to facilitate directional control. A natural fibre pull rope is attached to either end of the steering crossbar. Faint gold-toned decorative pinstripes are visible on the dark vertical metal supports. The sled is presented with a decorative pinecone and artificial holly wreath attached to the front of the seating deck. Dimensions: Length approx. 48 inches (122 cm) Width at steering handle approx. 21 inches (53 cm). Condition: The sled is in well-used vintage condition. The wooden slats and steering bar exhibit significant weathering, loss of finish, and age-related scuffs. The red paint on the metal runners and support structure is heavily worn with numerous chips, scratches, and areas of surface oxidation. The metal components remain structurally sound. The pull rope is frayed at the ends but intact.
