An assortment of vintage Canadian laundry equipment including washboards by the National Woodenware Company Limited and Canadian Woodenware Co. The collection features two wooden-framed washboards; the first is a Rival model with a zig-zag patterned glass scrubbing surface and printed markings for the National Woodenware Company Limited of St. Thomas, Ontario. The second is an Economy model with a corrugated zinc surface, manufactured by the Canadian Woodenware Co with Winnipeg, St. Thomas, and Montreal locations noted. The lot also includes a galvanised metal wash tub with dual side handles and concentric ribbing, a handheld laundry agitator with a long turned wooden handle and flared white-painted metal head, and an aluminium stovetop kettle with a black composite swing handle and lid knob. Dimensions (measured from visible tape measure, inches only shown): Washboard: H approx. 61 cm x W approx. 32 cm. Condition: The collection shows signs of surface wear, scuffing, and light soiling commensurate with age and domestic utility. The Rival washboard has a small circular puncture to the upper wooden headboard. The galvanised tub exhibits internal oxidisation and general surface dulling. The metal head of the agitator displays loss and chipping to the white paint finish. The aluminium kettle shows minor surface scratches and light darkening to the metal surfaces.
