David Najar (Israeli, b. 1962), Lilac Meadow, 2012, Original Oil on Canvas — Unique Work depicting a richly textured meadow of violet flowers beneath a stand of pale trees and a warm, atmospheric sky. Hand-signed in pigment lower left by the artist, D. Najar. A particularly appealing example of Najars expressive landscape painting, executed with exceptionally heavy, sculptural impasto. Thickly applied passages of violet, lavender, green, cream, and gold give the surface substantial depth and movement, while the restrained upper palette provides an effective contrast to the densely worked meadow below. The pronounced texture is an important visual element of the original painting and distinguishes it clearly from Najars editioned graphic works. Artwork Dimensions: 12 x 15 7/8 inches. His paintings are particularly associated with colorful, heavily textured landscapes and nature subjects.
