Simon Bull (British/American, b. 1958), Sweet Thing, Signed Limited Edition Mixed Media/Intaglio Print, No. 165/350. Vibrantly colored limited-edition mixed-media/intaglio print on paper depicting a stylized floral still life in Bull’s characteristic exuberant palette of yellow, orange, red, green, blue, and violet, accented with metallic gold highlights. Pencil signed lower right by the artist, titled Sweet Thing lower left, and numbered 165/350. The verso retains a Park West inventory/shipping label identifying Simon Bull, Sweet Thing, and the medium as Mixed Media on Paper. A highly decorative and visually appealing example of Bull’s colorful floral imagery, with the metallic gold accents adding depth and luminosity to the composition. Artwork Dimensions: approximately 6 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches. Framed Dimensions: 24 x 24 inches. Presented under glass in a substantial, top-quality gilt frame with ornate raised decoration, wide white matting, and gilt inner trim. The elaborate framing gives this relatively intimate work a particularly impressive presentation. Artist Information: Born in Bedfordshire, England in 1958, Simon Bull studied at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design before earning his BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Leeds Polytechnic in 1980. His work became particularly associated with bold color and expressive floral imagery. Bull won the British Fine Art Trade Guild’s Artist Print Award in 2000 and was selected to create artwork commemorating the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. His work has also been associated with projects honoring Muhammad Ali, and he was named Official Artist of the 2019 National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. Condition: Very good to excellent overall condition. Artwork presents beautifully with strong, vibrant colors and bright metallic accents.
