Renowned for his exceptional durability and control, Roberts finished his career with 286 victories, 2,357 strikeouts, 305 complete games and 45 shutouts, while earning seven consecutive All Star selections. From 1950 through 1955, Roberts remarkably won 20 or more games in six consecutive seasons, leading the National League in victories four straight years and topping the league in complete games five times. His finest season came in 1952, when he compiled a spectacular 28 and 7 record with a 2.59 ERA, leading the majors in victories and establishing himself among baseball's elite pitchers. Roberts was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976, and his iconic No. 36 was retired by the Philadelphia Phillies, cementing his place among the greatest players in franchise history. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 83, permanently limiting the supply of authentic material signed during his lifetime.
