A 90 percent silver Walking Liberty half dollar from the Denver Mint, offered without a date. The D mint mark is confirmed under magnification on the reverse at the lower left below the pine branch, the correct position for 1917 through 1947. Only a single curved digit resembling a nine can be made out at the lower right; the rest is worn away, and in two photographs the white auction sticker overlaps that corner of the coin. The date is not legible on the coin. The attribution comes from the consignor's flip and is unverified, so the 1919 written there will not go in the title. Liberty is largely a flat silhouette with the gown lines and sun rays gone; the reverse eagle is outlined with flat wing feathers but complete lettering. Medium gray and dull, grime in the recesses, no corrosion or rim damage. It is graded G by the consignor. This coin is raw and has not been certified by PCGS or NGC, so the grade reflects the consignor's opinion. Silver runs about $23.85 near $66 an ounce. Estimated Value: $24 to $32. Sold as-is.
