A 90 percent silver Barber half dollar dated 1900, all four digits bold and complete. The reverse area directly below the eagle's tail is in focus, clean and empty under magnification, so this is a Philadelphia coin with no mint mark. The coin appears to grade Good. Liberty's head is a flat outline, the wreath leaves and the headband word are worn away entirely, while every obverse letter, star and date digit stays complete and bold. The reverse eagle is well outlined with shield stripes partly visible and wing feathers mostly flat, and all lettering is complete. The look is even medium gray, slightly cloudy. No corrosion, scratches, rim damage or cleaning brightness. No grade is written on the flip, and the coin is raw and not certified by PCGS or NGC. Charles Barber's half circulated hard for decades, so worn examples like this are the norm and sharp ones the exception. It carries about $23.85 in silver near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot. Estimated Value: $25 to $40. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
