$20 Roll of Kennedy Halves, Bicentennial Ends

One paper roll of Kennedy half dollars in a tan kraft STEEL-STRONG wrapper printed $20 HALVES, meaning 40 coins if the roll is full. The photographs show only the two end coins, and both are 1776-1976 Bicentennial halves. The obverse end coin has a clear D mint mark below Kennedy's neck, full design detail, no wear on the high points, many fine bag marks, light hairlines on the cheek and field and a small scrape near the ear. The other end shows the Independence Hall reverse with a duller gray-tan cast, light haze and a few dark specks near the rim. The wrapper is soiled, wrinkled, creased and bent, and one end has been torn open, so this roll is not sealed. Only those 2 coins are visible and the rest of the contents cannot be confirmed. There is no melt story here: Kennedy halves are 40 percent silver only for 1965 through 1970, and the silver Bicentennial halves were struck at San Francisco for collector sets, never for circulation. A D-mint Bicentennial half is copper-nickel clad. Estimated Value: $18 to $26. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
