1776-1976 Kennedy Bicentennial Halves (5)

Five copper-nickel clad Kennedy half dollars carrying the 1776-1976 Bicentennial dual date and the Independence Hall reverse. Four coins show a D mint mark below the neck truncation; on the fifth that spot is in focus and empty, a Philadelphia strike. All five keep full hair and full LIBERTY with no wear into the fields, so they appear uncirculated, though the luster is a dull satin gray-white. Condition, stated plainly: one coin has dense fine scratches across both fields and the portrait, and those surfaces show hairlines consistent with an old cleaning, which PCGS and NGC would return as details rather than a straight grade. A second coin has scattered hairlines and gray-brown haze at the rims, a third has tan haze at the upper right rim, and one reverse carries a haze patch in the left field. Only a group reverse was photographed. Worth knowing: no half dollar is dated 1975, because the Mint used this dual date on every half struck in 1975 and 1976. These are clad and hold no silver.
