Five Kennedy half dollars. The consignor listing called these Bicentennial halves; none is. All five carry a single four-digit date and the regular eagle reverse, with no 1776-1976 dual date and no Independence Hall. Three are dated 1972 and two are dated 1974. Two 1972s show a legible D below the truncation, the third 1972 has a clear, in-focus and empty mint mark area, one 1974 is likewise empty, and on the last 1974 the truncation is dull, soft and shadowed, so its mint mark cannot be determined. All five are copper-nickel clad with no silver and no melt value. The two 1974s are the most worn, with flattening on the cheekbone and hair high points and dull gray surfaces, one noticeably smudged with soft lettering. Among the 1972s, one has mottled tan-gray tone with dark specks on the neck, one has fine dark speckling across the portrait and field, and one is brighter with light gold toning. The reverses show moderate friction on the eagle breast and wing tips and scattered ticks. Estimated Value: $5 to $10. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
