Five Kennedy half dollars. The consignor listing called these Bicentennial halves; not one is. Every coin carries a single four-digit date and the ordinary eagle reverse, with no 1776-1976 dual date and no Independence Hall anywhere. The five read 1973-D, 1974-D, 1977-D, 1980-D and 1982-D, each with a legible D below the truncation. All five are copper-nickel clad with no silver content and no melt value. Condition: full or near-full detail with light rub on the cheek and hair high points on several. The 1973-D has light tan toning and specks in the hair, the 1982-D light gray with dark flecks on the jaw, the 1980-D light gold-tan toning and small ticks, the 1977-D a dull gray-tan softly struck look with light hairlines, and the 1974-D light gray with a dark fleck in the left field. The reverse group shot shows one coin with a dark blotch across the eagle body. Worth knowing: half dollars stopped circulating after 1970, so most of these were struck for rolls and sets. Estimated Value: $5 to $10. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
