A 1964-D Kennedy half dollar in 90 percent silver, struck at Denver. The D sits on the reverse below the eagle tail feathers at the left, above HALF, which is the correct position for 1964, and it is small but legible in the reverse photograph. The coin is bright white and lustrous with pale gold at the rims and shows full detail with no wear, so it appears to grade uncirculated. Disclosed defects: light scattered ticks and short hairlines in the obverse fields, a small tan speck in the left field, a tiny greenish-tan fleck near the date in the closer obverse shot, and light tan flecks near the branch on the reverse. A white holder or foam edge touches the rim in several photographs; that is packaging, not damage. Denver outproduced Philadelphia on the 1964 half by better than two to one, so the D is the more common of the two. The coin holds 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver, roughly $23.85 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot before you bid. Estimated Value: $25 to $34. Sold as-is.
