1968-D Kennedy Half 40 Pct Silver Bright BU

A 1968-D Kennedy half dollar in 40 percent silver clad from the Denver Mint. The D sits on the obverse below the neck truncation above the date, soft in the first photograph and clear in the closer one. The coin is brilliant uncirculated and notably bright, with full hair detail, a sharp eagle, and fields reflective enough to look almost prooflike, with only a whisper of tone at the rims. A faint scuff shows on the cheek. There is no hairline pattern to suggest cleaning; the brilliance reads as natural mint brightness. No corrosion and no rim damage. It holds 0.1479 troy ounce of pure silver, roughly $9.75 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot before you bid. A note on the date: San Francisco took over all US proof coinage in 1968, so a 1968-S half is a proof, while this Denver piece is an ordinary business strike that was never meant for collectors.
