A 1968-D Kennedy half dollar in 40 percent silver clad. The D mint mark is small but legible on the obverse below the neck truncation, above the date. The coin is brilliant uncirculated with full hair and eagle detail and frosty luster, mostly white with a light gray gold cast and faint tan at the rims. Two small green specks need disclosing, one at the upper right in the hair near the R of LIBERTY and a fainter one at the right rim. Both are tiny, but green on a coin can spread in damp storage, so keep this one dry. A few light tan flecks show in the fields. No wear, scratches or rim damage. It holds 0.1479 troy ounce of pure silver, roughly $9.75 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot before you bid. These 40 percent halves were struck in enormous numbers and saved by the roll, so their price tracks the silver market far more closely than it tracks collector demand. Estimated Value: $10 to $13. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
