A 1967 Kennedy half dollar in 40 percent silver clad. The date is clear and the space below the neck truncation is empty, correct for 1967, a year when no US coin carried a mint mark. The coin is brilliant uncirculated with sharp hair detail and full eagle feathers, bright silver white surfaces, a light golden halo at the obverse rim and frosty luster. A faint pinkish tan blush shows on the cheek. The reverse is clean and bright with a hint of gold at the rim. No wear, scratches, corrosion or rim damage. It holds 0.1479 troy ounce of pure silver, roughly $9.75 at recent prices near $66 per ounce, and metal moves, so check spot before you bid. Worth knowing: these silver halves barely circulated. The public pulled them out of change as soon as silver started climbing, which is why most surviving 1965 to 1970 halves look like this one, uncirculated and never spent. Estimated Value: $10 to $14. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
