A matching pair of American sterling silver salt and pepper shakers. The shakers feature a classic bell-shaped form with a tapered, conical body and a flared circular foot. Each is topped with a domed, screw-on perforated lid surmounted by a spherical finial. One lid has larger and more numerous perforations than the other. The undersides of the bases are stamped with the text MADE IN U.S.A., STERLING SILVER, and the maker's mark S.C.S. CO. Height approx. 4.5 cm (measured against a ruler) Base diameter approx. 3.2 cm (measured against a ruler) Total weight: 14 g (measured on a scale). Condition: Both shakers exhibit significant surface tarnish and oxidation, particularly on the perforated lids. There are minor surface scratches and general signs of wear consistent with age and use. The screw lids remain functional.
