A sterling silver ring presentation box by Henry Birks and Sons, of cylindrical form featuring a stepped spreading base and a domed pull-off cover. The interior is fitted with a dark velvet pad with a central slit for a single ring, beneath a hinged silver internal ring-retainer. The underside of the base is stamped BIRKS STERLING. The interior of the cover is inset with a central embossed medallion depicting a lion crest with the text BIRKS JEWELLERS. Height approx. 4.5 cm Base diameter approx. 3.8 cm (measured against a ruler) Gross weight: 72 g. Condition: The silver surfaces exhibit moderate tarnish and light surface scratches throughout, consistent with age and use. There is a small indentation to the rim of the lower section. The velvet interior remains intact with minor wear to the pile. The internal hinge mechanism is functional.
