An assortment of five spoons comprising two solid silver souvenir examples and three nickel silver table spoons. The collection includes a silver souvenir spoon with a terminal cast as two tennis rackets and a shuttlecock, stamped on the reverse with the fineness mark 925 and an unconfirmed maker's mark. A second souvenir spoon in sterling silver features an enamelled terminal depicting a coat of arms above a stem decorated with multi-coloured enamel maple leaves, the reverse stamped STERLING, 925, and three small unconfirmed symbols. The collection further includes a pair of spoons in the Old English pattern stamped with the literal transcription ROUMANIAN SILVER H.G.&S.C., produced by Henry G. Stephens and Co. of Birmingham. The final item is a Fiddle pattern spoon stamped with a shield cartouche containing D&A and the literal transcription BENGAL SILVER, used by Daniel and Arter of Birmingham. Note that Roumanian Silver and Bengal Silver are historical trade names for nickel silver base metal alloys. Weight: 67g (gross) Dimensions: longest spoon approx. 12.7 cm (note: measured from a ruler showing inches only). Condition: All pieces show surface scratches and tarnishing consistent with age and use. The enamelling on the Canadian souvenir spoon appears largely intact with only minor surface wear. No structural damage or repairs are visible.
