A vintage windproof cigarette lighter manufactured by the Zippo Manufacturing Company Canada Ltd. The item features a chrome-plated body with a steel internal insert. The front of the lighter displays a circular advertising logo for Weaver Coal, featuring an etched and colour-filled design with a stylized letter W. The reverse is engraved in a cursive script with the name D. Blakely. The base is stamped with manufacturer details reading ZIPPO MFG. CO. CANADA LTD., PATENTED ZIPPO 1950, and NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO. The internal insert includes a chimney with sixteen ventilation holes and a textured flint wheel. Height approx. 2 1/4 inches (measured against a visible tape measure). Condition: The lighter is in a well-used state with evidence of extensive pocket wear. The exterior surfaces show widespread scratching, scuffing, and small areas of pitting. There is significant loss to the chrome plating along the edges and corners, revealing the underlying brass base metal. The yellow colour filling within the advertising logo is faded and partially missing. The internal chimney and mechanical components show heavy carbon buildup and signs of oxidation. The lighter remains untested for functional use and is sold as a collectable item.
