A vintage chrome-plated Zippo windproof lighter featuring corporate advertising for the Canadian firm Asbestos Limited, Toronto. The front of the case is decorated with an etched and colour-filled logo consisting of a large stylized AL bisected by a horizontal banner containing the word INSULATIONS, with ASBESTOS LIMITED and TORONTO positioned below. The reverse side is personalised with an engraved script signature for David Blakely. The base of the lighter carries a three-line stamp: ZIPPO MFG. CO. CANADA, LTD. / PATENTED ZIPPO 1950 / NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO. The internal mechanism includes a standard windproof chimney and flint wheel. Height approx. 5.7 cm (measured against a visible tape measure). Condition: The lighter is in used condition with signs of age and wear consistent with regular use. The chrome finish shows numerous surface scratches, small dings, and minor pitting to the edges and corners. The colour fill in the front logo is partially worn and faded. The internal components, including the chimney, show significant carbon buildup and soot. The hinge is intact and functional.
