A vintage Zippo Slim model windproof pocket lighter, manufactured in Bradford, Pennsylvania, in 1964. The chrome-plated case features a circular blue enamelled emblem for the Institute of Power Engineers (IPE) applied to the front. The emblem includes the motto SC PRO OMNIBUS LABORAS and the text INCORPORATED 1940 around a central monogram. The initials D. B. are engraved in a serif font directly below the insignia. The base is stamped with the Zippo script logo, a single vertical slash to the left, and two vertical slashes to the right, alongside the registered trademark symbol. The internal mechanism features a standard perforated chimney and flint wheel. Dimensions: H 57 mm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The lighter shows evidence of significant use and age. There are numerous surface scratches, scuffs, and small indentations across the chrome finish. The blue enamel on the central emblem displays damage and loss, particularly within the monogram area. Internally, the chimney and flint wheel exhibit heavy surface oxidation and rust. The original wick is present and appears charred. The hinge remains functional with some lateral play.
