A vintage chrome-plated windproof lighter produced by Zippo Manufacturing Co. Canada Ltd. in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The front of the case features promotional branding for Alliance Paper Mills Ltd., including a circular Green Cross for Safety logo above the word Alliance in stylized script and block lettering for PAPER MILLS LTD. The base is stamped with three lines of text: ZIPPO MFG. CO. CANADA LTD, PAT. ZIPPO PEND. and NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO. The interior features a removable metal insert with a sixteen-hole chimney and original wick. Height approx. 5.7 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The item is in well-used condition. The chrome-plated finish displays significant wear, with large areas of the brass base metal exposed on the reverse and corners. There is extensive surface scratching, scuffing, and minor pitting throughout the body. The coloured infill of the advertising graphics is faded with noticeable losses. The hinge remains functional but shows some lateral movement. The interior exhibits carbon deposits on the chimney and wick from regular use. A hand-incised mark resembling the number 7 is present on the reverse of the lid.
