A boxed set of six silver-plated knives produced for the Canadian market by G. Rodgers of Toronto, Ontario. The blades are constructed from English cast steel and finished with silver plating, marked as being of 12 pennyweights (DWTS) quality. The off-white handles are made from celluloid, an early synthetic plastic, marketed under the trade name The Acme as indicated on the original packaging. Each blade is stamped with the manufacturer's mark G. RODGERS above 12 DWTS. The set is housed in its original fitted presentation box, which bears a central circular manufacturer's mark for Toronto, Ontario, and additional text confirming the use of English cast steel and celluloid handles. Dimensions: Length approx. 22.8 cm (measured against ruler). Condition: The silver-plated blades exhibit heavy iridescent oxidation and tarnish throughout. At least one celluloid handle displays a visible longitudinal hairline crack. The original presentation box shows significant age-related wear, including staining, surface scuffing, and paper loss to the exterior.
