Single piece of hand blown art glass shaped as a free form basket or cornucopia bowl. The body is warm amber and gold with clear glass cased over the outside and darker brown swirls running through the thicker sections. The rim is pulled into a ruffled star shape with six sharp points, and a heavy applied handle arches from the rim down and around to the base. About twelve inches from one rim point to the outside of the handle and about six inches tall by the ruler. Small air bubbles and a few dark specks are trapped in the glass, normal in hand blown work. Condition is very good. No chips, cracks, or flea bites on the ruffled rim points or the handle. I studied the underside and found no maker mark, paper label, or signature of any kind, so I cannot tell you who made it. Pieces like this were made in Italy, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and the United States from the 1950s to the 1970s and are often sold as Murano style, but without a mark that is a guess and I will not state it as fact. Estimated Value: $25 to $50 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
