1970s Mighty Tonka Pressed Steel Dump Truck

Classic Mighty Tonka pressed steel dump truck in construction yellow. The cab door reads Mighty Tonka Dump in gold lettering and the hood carries the oval Tonka U.S.A. decal. Tilting dump bed on a working hinge, tinted plastic windshield and cab glass, heavy black steel front bumper, molded air cleaner and exhaust stack on the cowl, and six knobby rubber tires on yellow five hole hub wheels. The front panel of the dump bed is embossed Tonka between two mounting holes. It measures right at eighteen inches long. The bed raises and lowers smoothly and all wheels roll free. Condition is good for a truck that was played with hard. Paint chips along the bed rails, tailgate and hood edges, rust spotting inside the bed and on the front bumper, and general scratching across the sheet metal. Nothing appears bent, broken or missing and no repaint was seen. Authenticity has not been verified by Crawford Auction Service. Estimated Value: $50 to $100 based on comparable recent sales.
