Signed Fannie L. Polacca Nampeyo Hopi pottery jar, featuring a beautifully executed traditional-style painted design in rich brown, black and reddish-orange tones over a warm buff-colored body. The vessel has a rounded, low-shouldered form rising to a narrow tapered neck, with the painted decoration wrapping around the circumference. The underside is clearly inscribed “FANNIE L. POLACCA NAMEPYO.” The spelling “Namepyo” is reproduced exactly as it appears on the pottery rather than corrected or interpreted. The decoration combines sweeping abstract forms, fine parallel lines, stippled/textured fields, dots and geometric elements, giving the vessel a striking graphic appearance associated with Hopi pottery traditions. The elongated neck and broad rounded body make this an especially attractive display piece. Measures approximately 4.5" tall x 4" wide. Preowned condition with minor surface wear and natural variations consistent with handmade pottery. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition, painted decoration and underside inscription.
