Bob White Archie "Dish of Danger!" Complete 5-Page Original Comic Art Story – Possibly Unpublished c. 1960s Exceptionally interesting complete 5-page Archie original comic art story by noted Archie artist Bob White (1928–2005), titled “Dish of Danger!” Featuring Archie Andrews and Reggie Mantle, the story follows Reggie attempting to teach Archie how to “live dangerously,” with predictably humorous results. All five original production-art pages are included, preserving the story together as a complete sequence. The artwork displays a fascinating combination of graphite pencil, finished ink work, hand lettering, editorial corrections, and visible production elements, providing an unusually direct look into the creation of a vintage Archie story. This artwork was discovered among material originating directly from Bob White’s storage unit, together with additional artwork and paintings by White, including signed examples. This provenance provides compelling support for the Bob White attribution. Bob White was an important figure in the classic Archie era, producing extensive artwork for Archie Comics during the 1950s and 1960s. Surviving complete stories by White are known; comparable examples include complete 5-page Life with Archie stories from 1962. (MutualArt) Despite research into the story title and available Archie publication records, we have been unable to locate a published appearance of “Dish of Danger!” The absence of publication information, combined with the unfinished production state visible in portions of the artwork and its survival among White’s own stored material, raises the intriguing possibility that this may represent an unpublished Archie story. We cannot presently confirm that the story was unpublished, and it is being offered as possibly unpublished pending further identification. An outstanding opportunity to acquire a complete vintage Bob White Archie story with direct artist provenance, rather than an individual production page. All five pages are offered together and will remain as a complete story. Original artwork shows expected signs of the comic-production process and age, including pencil marks, corrections, white-out, handling wear, toning and other production-related characteristics.
