Bob White Attributed Archie Comics "Kick Trick!" Original Preliminary Layout Art Vintage original Archie Comics preliminary/layout artwork attributed to Bob White, featuring Archie Andrews in a short story titled “Kick Trick!” The page is headed in pencil “Archie in ‘Kick Trick!’” and represents an early stage in the comic-production process, with ruled panel borders, dialogue and sound effects laid out prior to completion of the finished character artwork. Visible dialogue includes “Uh, oh! The car’s stopping!”, “What’s wrong!”, “This car makes me so mad!” and “Archie!” The page concludes with a penciled “THE END.” Of particular interest is the unfinished nature of the sheet. Much of the dialogue, lettering and panel structure has been established while the intended artwork remains either extremely lightly rendered or absent, providing an unusual look at the developmental process behind an Archie Comics story. This piece originates from the same collection of original Bob White/Archie production material, supporting the Bob White attribution. The sheet itself is not visibly signed. Condition: Vintage working production artwork showing age toning, scattered staining/foxing and discoloration, handling wear, and edge/corner wear. Artwork and production markings are quite light in areas, as shown. Please review photographs carefully for condition. Attribution/Provenance: Attributed to Bob White based upon provenance and its presence within the same collection of Bob White/Archie production artwork. Unsigned.
