Bob White Attributed Archie Comics Original Preliminary Layout Art – Archie Andrews Vintage original Archie Comics preliminary/layout artwork attributed to Bob White, featuring Archie Andrews in two developed pencil studies within an otherwise unfinished six-panel comic page. Executed in graphite pencil on oversized comic-art stock, the sheet contains ruled panel borders and lightly penciled dialogue-balloon placements throughout. Most of the page remains at an extremely preliminary stage, while two panels contain more developed character artwork of Archie — including a particularly expressive close-up in the final panel. The contrast between the nearly blank preliminary panels and the more developed Archie drawings provides an interesting look at the early stages of the comic-book production process, before completion of finished pencils, lettering and inks. A small penciled "2" appears at the lower right of the final panel, apparently indicating the page number. This piece originates from the same collection of original Bob White/Archie production material and is attributed to Bob White on the basis of that provenance. The artwork itself is not visibly signed. Condition: Vintage working production artwork displaying age toning, scattered staining/foxing and discoloration, particularly along the right side, along with handling and edge wear. Much of the artwork is intentionally extremely light and preliminary. Two punched holes are present along the upper margin, with additional production/registration marks visible on the sheet. Please review photographs carefully. Attribution/Provenance: Attributed to Bob White based upon provenance and its presence within the same collection of Bob White/Archie production artwork.
