Gebruder Heubach German Bisque Socket Head Doll

This Gebruder Heubach bisque socket head doll features a hand-painted face with weighted blue glass sleep eyes, multi-stroke eyelashes, feathered eyebrows, and an open mouth revealing four upper teeth. The back of the neck is incised with the maker mark in an arch above a sunburst symbol. She features an auburn curly wig and a kid leather body with gusseted hip and knee joints. The lower arms and hands are bisque, and the lower legs are cloth. The doll is dressed in a red, purple, and green plaid cotton dress, white cotton lace-trimmed slip and pantaloons, and black knit stockings. Height: 14 inches. The bisque head is well-preserved with functional eye mechanisms. The kid leather body shows expected signs of age including surface wear and darkening. Typical repairs and patches are present at the shoulders and torso.
