1883 Seated Liberty Dime, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic late-19th-century U.S. silver dime is a popular issue from the Seated Liberty series and a great example of historic American coinage. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Seated Liberty Dime was designed by Christian Gobrecht, with later issues attributed to James B. Longacre, and features Liberty seated on a rock, holding a liberty pole and shield. The reverse displays the denomination “ONE DIME” surrounded by a wreath. The 1883 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 7,674,673 coins, including regular-strike production. Philadelphia Mint examples carry no mint mark. The coin was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs approximately 2.50 grams, and measures about 17.9 mm in diameter with a reeded edge.
