1852 Seated Liberty Dime, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic mid-19th-century U.S. silver coin is an early issue from the Seated Liberty Dime series and a desirable piece of historic American coinage. The Seated Liberty Dime was designed by Christian Gobrecht and features Liberty seated on a rock, holding a liberty pole and shield on the obverse. The reverse displays the denomination “ONE DIME” surrounded by a wreath. The 1852 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 1,535,500 coins. Philadelphia Mint examples carry no mint mark. The coin was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs approximately 2.67 grams, and measures about 17.9 mm in diameter. It features a reeded edge.
