1891 Seated Liberty Dime, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This is the final year of the Seated Liberty Dime series, making it an especially notable issue for collectors of classic U.S. coinage. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Seated Liberty Dime features Liberty seated on a rock, holding a liberty pole and shield on the obverse, while the reverse displays “ONE DIME” surrounded by a wreath. The design was used on U.S. dimes from 1837 through 1891 before being replaced by the Barber Dime in 1892. The 1891 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 15,310,200 coins. Philadelphia Mint examples carry no mint mark. The coin was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs approximately 2.50 grams, measures 17.9 mm in diameter, and features a reeded edge.
