NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Measuring 28" H x 46" W, this substantial handcrafted wood wall panel depicts four ducks in flight above a marsh landscape. The composition is surrounded by a broad mitered wood frame measuring approximately 3/4" thick. The background is assembled from vertically arranged wood boards in varied widths, creating the appearance of rustic planking. Individually cut and applied wooden elements form the flying ducks, reeds, grasses, shoreline and low mounds across the foreground. Incised lines define the wings, feathers and bodies, while the layered construction raises the figures from the background to produce a dimensional relief effect. The warm reddish-brown finish unifies the different woods while preserving visible grain, knots and natural variations throughout. The four birds are arranged at differing heights and angles, giving the composition movement and the character of waterfowl passing over a Southern marsh or wetland. A paper label on the reverse reads E & T CRAFTS, ETC., The scale, layered construction and regionally appropriate waterfowl subject suggest production as a locally made decorative furnishing.
