Introduced in 1960, the Model 742 remained in production until 1980, when it was replaced by the Model 4 and Model 7400. BROWNING AUTOMATIC HIGH-POWER RIFLE OPERATION AND CARE MANUAL — Illustrated Browning booklet for the sporting rifle commonly known as the Browning BAR. The cover identifies Browning Arms Company at Route 1, Morgan, Utah, and Montreal, Quebec. Comparable examples of this cover edition are generally associated with the late 1960s. BROWNING AUTOMATIC-5 SHOTGUN LIGHT 12 AND 20 GAUGE OPERATION AND CARE MANUAL — Illustrated factory booklet covering operation, ammunition, adjustment and maintenance of the Browning Auto-5 Light Twelve and Twenty. Designed by John M. Browning, the Auto-5 became the first commercially successful semiautomatic shotgun and remained in production in its original form for nearly a century. Offered together as useful reference material and period accessories for collectors of Remington and Browning sporting firearms.
