MAGNAVOX ASTRO-SONIC MID-CENTURY STEREO CONSOLE

Measuring 50" W x 18-3/4" D x 26-1/2" H, this vintage Magnavox Astro-Sonic stereo console powers on, but is offered as non-functional. The receiver produces a degree of static; however, the tuning knob is locked and will not turn to select stations, and the illuminated station dial does not appear to light. The Micromatic turntable operates when powered, but the phonograph has no needle and cannot presently play records. The low-profile Mid-Century Modern cabinet appears to be walnut or walnut-finished wood and has tapered legs, woven speaker panels across the front and ends, and two sliding top panels concealing the receiver and record changer. The cabinet retains the original tuner, controls, turntable, speakers and internal components. With the components removed, the long, shallow form could also be adapted as a storage console, media cabinet, television stand, bar or other furnishing.
