A pair of Canadian silver 50-cent coins dated 1945. These pieces are struck in .800 fine silver and feature reeded edges. The obverse of each coin displays the Humphrey Paget portrait of King George VI, circumscribed by the Latin legend GEORGIVS VI D:G: REX ET IND:IMP: with the designer initials HP visible below the neck truncation. The reverse depicts the 1921 design of the Canadian Coat of Arms, featuring a crowned shield supported by a lion and a unicorn. KM 36. Condition: Circulated. Both coins exhibit light to moderate wear on the high points of the King's portrait and the heraldic design of the reverse. Surfaces show a natural grey patina with areas of darker toning in the recessed fields. Minor contact marks and light scratches are present on both pieces.
