A pair of Canadian silver 50-cent coins issued during the reign of King George VI, dated 1951 and 1952. These coins are struck in .800 fine silver with reeded edges. Obverse: George VI portrait by Humphrey Paget, with the circumscribed legend GEORGIVS VI DEI GRATIA REX. Reverse: 1921 Coat of Arms of Canada design, featuring a crowned shield with lion and unicorn supporters and a cluster of three maple leaves at the base. The denomination 50 CENTS is positioned above the heraldry, with the country name and respective date below. Suggested reference (unverified): KM# 45. Condition: Both coins exhibit light circulating wear to the hair and high points of the relief, consistent with very fine to extremely fine condition. Numerous surface contact marks and bag marks are visible on the fields. The 1951 example displays significant yellowish-brown toning across its surfaces, while the 1952 coin shows more localised toning.
