A pair of Canadian silver 50 cent coins, also known as half dollars, comprising issues from 1940 and 1943. The obverse of each coin features the uncrowned portrait of King George VI by Thomas Humphrey Paget, accompanied by the Latin legend GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP :. Small initials HP are visible at the base of the truncation. The reverse displays the 1921 Arms of Canada design by George Kruger Gray, featuring a crowned shield supported by a lion and a unicorn, with the denomination 50 CENTS at the top and the issuing country CANADA above the date at the bottom. The coins are struck in .800 fineness silver with reeded edges. Condition: Both coins exhibit signs of moderate circulation with wear present on the high points of the portrait and the central heraldic shield. There is significant dark toning across the surfaces of both specimens, particularly concentrated within the recessed fields and around the legends. No major scratches, gouges, or significant rim damage are apparent. The coins are in fine to very fine condition.
