A pair of Canadian silver 50-cent coins dated 1951. Struck in .800 fineness silver, these coins feature the King George VI obverse design. The legend reads GEORGIVS VI DEI GRATIA REX, and the truncation of the neck bears the initials HP for the engraver Humphrey Paget. The reverse displays the Canadian Coat of Arms design by George Kruger-Gray, whose initials K G appear near the base. Both pieces have reeded edges. Reference: KM 45. Condition: Both coins are in circulated condition. The surfaces exhibit muted lustre with significant wear to the higher points of the portraits and the shield. There is scattered dark toning and carbon spotting visible on the obverse fields and portraits. Light contact marks and minor scratches are present throughout.
