A pair of Canadian silver 50-cent coins dated 1962 and 1965. Struck in .800 fine silver with reeded edges. The 1962 coin features the Mary Gillick laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The 1965 coin features the same obverse portrait with the abbreviated legend ELIZABETH II D · G · REGINA. The reverse of each coin depicts the Canadian Coat of Arms design, inscribed with the issuer CANADA, the denomination 50 CENTS, and the respective years 1962 and 1965. The national motto A MARI USQUE AD MARE is inscribed on a ribbon below the shield. Condition: Circulated. Both coins exhibit moderate surface wear and significant toning. The 1962 coin shows heavy dark tarnish on the obverse. The 1965 coin displays golden-brown peripheral toning on the reverse.
