Constructed of cobalt blue and cream glazed stoneware, this commemorative military service beer stein features molded high-relief decoration celebrating Imperial German military service. The central medallion depicts a Pickelhaube-clad soldier framed by military trophies and ornamental panels, while additional relief scenes show soldiers during field service. A raised ribbon around the base bears the inscription "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit" ("In Remembrance of My Time in Service"). The stein retains its original pewter hinged lid with an acorn finial and matching thumb lift. Impressed mold and production numbers are present on the base. Condition shows light wear to the raised relief, minor oxidation to the pewter lid, and scattered handling wear. This example was produced in Imperial Germany, circa 1900-1918, as a general military service remembrance stein rather than one commemorating a specific regiment or branch. Measures 6" tall, 3.5" wide and 6" deep including handle. BP/RC
