This is a cream-glazed stoneware commemorative Heer (Army) service beer stein . The front is decorated in hand-painted polychrome enamel with the German Army national eagle above a Wehrmacht steel helmet, crossed rifle and bayonet, bread bag, entrenching tool, and oak leaves enclosed within a red-bordered oak wreath. The stein retains its original pewter hinged lid with an acorn-form thumb lift and an impressed 0.5L capacity mark on the body. An impressed maker's mark is present on the base. Condition includes a long hairline crack extending across the reverse body, light glaze wear, scattered handling marks, and natural oxidation to the pewter lid. Produced shortly after the war, judging by the distinct absence of a swastika, this is a generic commemorative Heer service stein rather than a unit-specific presentation example. This measures 6.5" tall, 3 3/4" in diameter and 5" deep including handle. BP/RC
