Cream-glazed stoneware Bavarian reservist beer stein measuring 10.5" high with a diameter of 4.5". The body is decorated with hand-painted polychrome enamel scenes illustrating military service, including recruit training, barracks life, disciplinary scenes, reserve duty, and Bavarian patriotic imagery surrounding the royal coat of arms and views of Munich. Around the rim appears the inscription "Infanterie Rgt. 11. Comp. 1903/05 München," identifying service with the 11th Company, Bavarian Infantry Regiment 11, while the base bears the personalized inscription "Gefreiter Hans Zirmgibl." The original pewter hinged lid is richly embossed with floral decoration and surmounted by a finely cast figure of a Bavarian infantryman standing beside a lion. The interior retains its original lithophane depicting a soldier bidding farewell to a woman, visible when held to the light. The stein remains in very good condition with bright enamel decoration, an intact pewter lid and hinge, and no visible structural damage. Produced during the Imperial German period, this is an attractive and well-preserved example of an early twentieth-century Bavarian reservist presentation stein. BP/RC
