Two oval badges produced for the Winter Relief Organization (Winterhilfswerk, WHW) between 1933 and 1945. Each badge is set in a molded plastic frame with a pin-back attachment and includes an embroidered depiction of a regional folk figure: one badge represents a woman from Tirol in traditional dress, while the other depicts a man from Kaernten in regional attire. The badges were distributed as donor gifts during the Winter Relief street collections organized under the Third Reich. Each badge measures 1.75 inches in height and 1.25 inches in width. Minor paint loss is visible on the frames, and light staining can be seen on the fabrics. Issued at the Gau administrative level, these badges reflect the period’s practice of honoring donors with items representing various German regions. SC
