Original pair of WWII German Winterhilfswerk (WHW) Trachten-Abzeichen charity donation badges featuring colorful depictions of traditional regional folk costumes. One badge portrays a man in Alpine attire carrying a walking staff, while the companion badge depicts a woman wearing a traditional regional dress with matching hat. Each badge is constructed with a multicolor machine-embroidered silk-thread figure mounted on a cloth backing within a molded plastic frame. Both retain their original safety pin attachments. Each measures approximately 1.75 inches H x 1.25 inches W. Condition is very good, exhibiting authentic age toning, light edge wear, minor surface scuffs, and small areas of paint loss consistent with age and handling. Produced as part of the Third Reich Winter Relief (Winterhilfswerk) fundraising campaign, these badges celebrated the traditional dress of regions throughout Germany and annexed Austria while supporting charitable fundraising efforts. A vibrant and attractive matched pair offering excellent historical significance and display appeal for collectors of WWII German memorabilia and WHW badges. SC
