Two oval plastic-framed badges issued during the Third Reich (1933-1945) Winterhilfswerk (WHW) winter relief campaign. Each badge is distinguished by a light blue frame with molded lettering indicating the respective Austrian Ostmark regions: "Niederdonau" and "Steiermark." The fabric inserts are embroidered with regional costume figures, showing clear representation of traditional attire from the specified areas. Both badges show visible staining and foxing on the fabric, with minor wear present on the frames. Pinbacks are attached for fastening. Each badge measures 1.75 inches in height and 1.25 inches in width. These donor gifts reflect the organizational efforts to encourage civilian participation and support during the era’s charity drives, specifically through the depiction of regional identities within annexed Austrian territories.
